SHOVELING HELP NEEDED THIS WINTER!
PSNYC is looking for help shoveling its playing field this Winter!
WHEN: as needed after snowfall, whatever dates you are available (as quickly as possible after a snowfall, we want to prevent field from icing over)
WHERE: James J. Walker Park Field, located in the west village of Manhattan at Clarkson St & Hudson St, New York NY 10013. Nearest subways: A/B/C/D/E to W 4th; 1 train to Houston St.

Mission Statement
Pickup Soccer, Inc. (d.b.a. Pickup Soccer NYC) is a non-profit adult recreational athletic organization, incorporated by the NY State Attorney General’s Office, founded in New York City in 2006, that holds organized soccer games year-round for adults age 18 years and above whose mission is to build a friendly and peaceful environment of camaraderie, equality, good will, volunteerism, and fellowship in which all persons can play together for recreation regardless of age, background or playing ability.
Description
PICKUP SOCCER is a co-ed recreational community soccer organization which holds open soccer games year-round 5-7 days a week. Games are structured in an open format and attendance is optional; once registered, members can attend as many or few games as desired. Players show up to games at-will without a pre-assigned set of teammates. No score is kept and games run 1.5-3 hours, allowing players to join in and leave the game when they wish.
Our mission is to build a friendly and peaceful playing atmosphere and to move past the mindset of competition where everyone is playing truly for sport. Games are open to all skill levels and the Organization’s membership is diverse, composed of players of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities from beginner to ex-pro. Pickup Soccer is an international network of soccer players from all parts of the world and dedicated following of veterans, fans and supporters. Over the years, PICKUP SOCCER has accumulated a dedicated following of captivated veterans, patrons and supporters alike and carved out a unique spot in NYC’s soccer community.
Pickup Soccer Inc.’s compatriot organization is Pickup Soccer Youth (http://pickupsocceryouth.org) which seeks volunteers and youth coaches as well!
