Camp Leaders needed for upcoming Summer Camps

Cahoots are seeking enthusiastic Camp Leaders aged 18+, to assist children and young people living with a disability. We have upcoming Camps over the school holidays on the following dates:

All Abilities Camp - Geraldton - 2 nd - 6 th July 2018

High Support - Landsdale - 2 nd - 6 th July 2018

18+ - Geraldton - 9 th - 13 th July 2018

All Abilities Camp - Whiteman Park - 9 th - 13 th July 2018

All transport, accommodation, catering and activities will be covered during

Cahoots are seeking enthusiastic Camp Leaders, aged 18+, to assist children with intellectual disabilities.

Cahoots Camps provide an opportunity for children to develop their social skills, make new friends, build self-confidence and try new activities in a supported environment. Camps also provide parents and families with an opportunity to recharge their batteries.

Leaders are allocated 1-3 participants, depending on the children’s support needs, and are required to care for these children for the duration of the camp. Their responsibilities include:

- Provide a high standard of care for the children at all times and where required:

- Assist and encourage participants to participate in games and activities

- Assist in the personal hygiene needs of the group

- Assist in the care of participant’s belongings

- Assist participants with meals

All leaders will receive an induction session and be given ongoing guidance and support through the duration of the camp. Students and work practice placements are also welcome.

Must be at least 18 years of age, enthusiastic and caring. Must have a genuine interest in children and be able to speak English fluently. Successful applicants will need a Working with Children’s Check and a valid Police Check (we can assist with this).
