Help The HavServe Community Center in Haiti
Let's Build this Community Center Together!

Looking for a volunteer experience that will challenge you physically and mentally? One that will fit your "work hard, play hard" mentality? Construction of a Community Center may be just what you’re looking for. The construction of a Community Center will provide volunteers with a tangible sense of accomplishment while giving them the chance to explore a new corner of the world. Whether you’re a licensed contractor with decades of experience or a well-intentioned newbie who doesn’t know a hammer from a T-square, you can help Team HavServe make a difference.

How often do you think about the construction materials needed to build the structures we live and work in every day?

Volunteering on our construction project will help you understand exactly what goes into creating something from nothing, and what it takes to make construction projects come to life. By Joining our Construction team will allow you to gain a better sense of Haiti’s unique social structure and economic climate, throughout the building process. It’s impossible to build a Community Center in a foreign land without gaining a deeper understanding of the work required to make it happen.

Additionally, it is incredibly powerful to see the fruits of your labor materialize before your eyes. To realize that your hands carried bricks and constructed walls, which became classrooms and libraries for thousands of children and youth, will be beyond rewarding. Contributing to the construction of a Community Center project in rural Haiti will give you a sense of pride in your accomplishments.

Construction volunteer work may entail mixing concrete, assisting in building demolition, carrying bricks and other materials around job sites, assembling rebar (which reinforces and strengthens concrete), digging the foundation for structures, painting, or preparing materials for foremen, such as sifting sand and wetting bricks for construction, among others.

When you’re not busy volunteering, you can catch a glimpse of the amazing beauty of rural Haiti while making new friends and having fun!
