ORGANIZATION: Refugee Resettlement Office

Work in a classroom setting and assist students in completing assignments and practicing English conversation skills. You will work one-on-one with students that need extra help learning to read, write and speak English, assist ESL students in conversation practice, study for naturalization tests, and develop computer skills.

Classes are held Monday through Thursday, 9:30 - 12:30 in our offices in Seattle and Kent. You may volunteer as many days per week as you would like.

Assisting refugees and immigrants with a variety of services including resettlement, orientation to Seattle, job placement/retention, workplace skill training, social services, asset development, and financial education.

Description

The Diocese of Olympia has existed in Western Washington for 75 years. The Diocese represent 90 Episcopal Parishes and 15 social service missions including the Refugee Resettlement Office, which was established in 1975. The office has been under the same leadership for 17 years. The office serves individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life through many different innovative projects.
