Beginning this year, Harpers Ferry National Park will launch a new volunteer program dedicated to the preservation of cultural sites in the park. The Harpers Ferry Hammer Corps will provide an opportunity for volunteers of all ages to learn about and connect with the park's historic buildings and cultural landscapes while working to preserve them. The main focus is the preservation of the historic Lockwood House structure, a pre-Civil War era building that has seen many parts of the Harpers Ferry story.
Both short term and long term volunteer opportunities are available. Park housing may also be available for longer term volunteers or volunteer leaders. This is an opportunity to work alongside National Park Service Historic Trades professionals and gain unique knowledge and skills on historic building preservation and more. Volunteers (14+) of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to apply.
