Montgomery Station, Family Services, Inc.'s day center for adults living with chronic illness, is looking for volunteers to share their interests and skills as a group leader once or twice a week. Montgomery Station is located a 630 East Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery Station clients meet in groups of their choice several times each week. Groups meet at 10am, 11am and 1pm, for an hour each. Groups can range from 2-30 people.

Current group topics include: Coping skills, Board games, Fitness, Cooking, Meditation, Poetry, Trivia, and more.

Volunteers are required to attend a new volunteer orientation, and then they will receive further training from Montgomery Station staff. Volunteers are welcome to shadow a group or two first to get a sense of how groups run. No formal experience is necessary; this is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience working in the mental health field.
