The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.

Exhibition Lobby Volunteer
The Exhibition Lobby Volunteer will play a crucial role in the success of the Speed's newest exhibit: Picasso to Pollock: Modern Masterworks from the Eskenazi Museum of Art . Featured artists include Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Gabriele Muenter, Egon Schiele, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, Kay Sage, Paul Klee, Diego Rivera, and Jackson Pollock. You will greet guests, provide wayfinding and help maintain exhibition capacity during this major exhibition.
Work with our Security staff to monitor the number of guests in the gallery space.
Using an attendance clicker, count and record the number of guests in the exhibition.
Check exhibition tickets for the correct time.
Greet guests as they enter and exit the exhibition.
Provide wayfinding and answer basic guest questions about the Speed.
Encourage guests to complete a survey regarding the exhibition as they exit.
Ideal Exhibition Lobby Volunteers are friendly, social, calm under pressure, proactive and detail oriented.
You must be comfortable with standing and sitting for intervals (typical shifts are four hours.)
An interest in art and a knowledge of the Speed’s collection and surroundings are helpful but not required.
Shifts are available during all open days; the greatest need is on weekends and during our monthly After Hours event (every 3 rd Friday from 5pm-10pm.)
