Hours and days are flexible for a minimum commitment of 2-4 hours each week. Monday-Fridays between the hours of 8a-4p
What you'll be doing: The opportunity to volunteer with Sutter Health-Palo Alto Medical Foundation's Palliative Care service in Palo Alto or Sunnyvale. You will have the opportunity to talk with patients and family members via telephone and face to face interactions. Responsibilities may include calling Hospice agencies/community organizations, calling patients to confirm appointments, compiling patient informational folders, clerical tasks, perform data entry or data updates, and coordinate volunteer efforts with other hospice partners.
What we're looking for: Volunteers need to feel comfortable talking to patients and family members. They need to have a calming demeanor and have good listening skills. Volunteers also need to verbally communicate well with staff, patients and guests. Computer skills for data entry is a plus.
