Altus hospice is looking for office volunteers who want to make a difference in their community but prefer to work in an office setting.

Altus is a hospice that serves patients in the greater Austin area, we serve patients and families to ensure they are able to have a full life for as much time as they have left. We believe hospice care is about living, not dying, and using the time you have to live your life on your terms.

Office volunteers can serve to help these patients, and their families in the 13 months we follow-up with a family after a patient's passing. We could use your skills in mailers, typing, organizing, filing and basic office tasks.

Our office volunteers are an amazing resource, freeing our social workers, chaplains and volunteer coordinator even more time to spend with our patients and their families. Your work directly helps families who are going through this life transition.

If this sounds like a fit for you please get in touch with us! You may email our volunteer coordinator directly at jsantos@altushospicecare.com

Mission Statement

The Mission of Altus Hospice is to provide professional care with a personal touch. We accomplish this by focusing on both the patient and their family. We will treat the disease process with medical expertise while emphasizing quality living, not only physically, but also psychosocially, emotionally and spiritually. Comfort, compassion and calming presence are the gifts we bring to this service, and we are honored to walk with the patient and loved ones through this special time.

Description

Altus has the honor and privilege to partner with patients and families as they enter into end of life care.

Hospice is a concept of caring, rather than a specific location. In hospice care, the emphasis is on palliative (comfort) care and quality of life. Every effort is made to make the patient as comfortable as possible and fulfill the distinct wishes of the patient and their family. There is practical, emotional, and spiritual support available for all involved.
