Experience a life in a year-Host an exchange student with AFS

ORGANIZATION: AFS-USA Monterey Area Team

You can change a life in a year! Volunteer to host an international exchange student with AFS Intercultural Programs! As an AFS Host Family you share your home with a new family member and learn more about another part of the world. Our participants are carefully matched with their host families and AFS volunteers are always on hand to make sure that you and your exchange student have the support and tools needed for a positive experience. Students arrive in August for a full academic year and the experience of a lifetime.

As a leader in international high school exchange for over 65 years, AFS differs from many other exchange organizations. Among the most important distinctions is that AFS has a network of thousands of volunteers in the U.S. Many of these volunteers have hosted or studied abroad with AFS, so they have an excellent understanding of how to support host families and exchange students.

Hosting an international exchange student means more than providing a bed and meals. As an AFS host family, you’ll welcome a new family member, share your everyday lives, and grow together as you get to know each other. You’ll be surprised at how much you learn about yourself, your family, and your community by hosting a student from another culture.

To get started on your application or to learn about a few of the students who will be arriving in August of 2018 go to http://www.afsusa.org/host-family.
