Homeless Services Network is seeking volunteers to help at the community HUBs. HUBs are safe locations where individuals and families experiencing homelessness can come in to have empowerment and strength based conversations to explore alternative resources and supports to keep them off the streets or out of the shelters. As a volunteer, you'll have that opportunity to help guide those conversations and you'll get the chance to be part of the tri-county effort to tackle homelessness in Central Florida!

On site HUB shifts are available on:

Mission Statement

To provide leadership and collectively advocate for the alleviation of homelessness in Central Florida by identifying needs, developing resources, and coordinating services.

Description

Incorporated in 1993 to coordinate the scarce resources available to assist people experiencing homelessness, the Homeless Services Network has undertaken the development of a Continuum of Care for Central Florida since 1995. Recognized by both the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Florida Department of Children & Family Services as the coordinating agency for homeless services, the Homeless Services Network became a regional body in 2000 with the addition of Seminole and Osceola Counties. The Homeless Services Network's Continuum of Care process has been successful in bringing more than $20 million in federal funding from HUD's Supportive Housing Program to Central Florida since 1995.
