Thank you for considering to volunteer for the March of Dimes! The work of the March of Dimes has always been and will always be dependent on the power of volunteers. YOU ensure that our goals become reality so one day we will live in a world in which every baby has the opportunity to thrive, live the future they choose, and grow up to change the world.
DUTIES: Volunteer opportunities cover a wide variety of duties and tasks. Below is a sampling of some of the duties you may be asked to help with.
- Prepare correspondence to other key volunteers or donors.
- Aid in preparation of bulk mailings
- Thank you calls to critical volunteers and donors
- Calling on key Corporate Partners via telephone or in-person
HOURS AND LOCATION: Hours and location are very flexible and variable based upon volunteer availability. Standard office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm / Monday through Friday. However, many of our volunteer opportunities can be picked up / dropped off and done from the comfort of your own home.
TIME COMMITMENT AND FREQUENCY:The need for volunteers will vary throughout the year. You will receive a call and/or an email requesting your assistance when a project needing volunteers arises. Your March of Dimes volunteer coordinating staff member will let you know the timeframe and task. You can choose to volunteer as much as your time and schedule will allow.
SUPPORT: Your March of Dimes volunteer coordinating staff will provide on-going support and any training as needed.
MISSION: At March of Dimes we strive to improve the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. We fund important research, community services and advocacy campaigns. Each year over 480,000 babies are born in CA and March of Dimes is working to help every one of them.
