The Trustees’ Horticulture team is looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on an important data entry project. This individual will support a statewide documentation process that includes translating handwritten notes into information to be collected in our record-keeping spreadsheets. The Trustees’ eleven public gardens, located in both urban and rural settings, enable us to expand and diversify our audiences, unlocking their relationship to The Trustees through our most compelling, emotionally appealing places. Supporting these gardens is a team of five Horticultural specialists based at individual properties. These individuals are experts in the care and creation of beautiful, well-curated public gardens.
Reports To:
Director of Public Gardens
Time Commitment Needed:
* 2-4 hours per week minimum
* Monday-Friday preferred
* Once project is finished there may be opportunities for other types of data entry
Location
This position is based in either our Leominster or Florence office. Opportunities to work remotely are also available.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Enter data into spreadsheets
* Translate handwritten notes
* Check notes for accuracy and detail
* Log volunteer hours into Hands on Connect, The Trustees’ volunteer website
Qualifications:
* Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet program
* Attention to accuracy and detail
* Ability to sit for a prolonged period
* Ability to read handwritten notes
* Have reliable transportation or access to a computer (if working remotely)
* Familiarity with gardening and horticulture preferred but not necessary
