Adopt part of our collection to care for in order to keep the library bright, welcoming, and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check shelves to make sure items are in the correct order.
- Straighten items so they are neat, even with front lip of shelf, and, when applicable, held in place with a bookend.
- Dust shelves or wipe down with cleaner when needed.
- Fill empty displays in your adopted area with items you think customers will enjoy.
Qualifications:
- Ability to move around, push a cart weighing up to 25 pounds, and reach lower shelves
- Commitment to the library’s vision of being a vibrant community front porch and value of inspiring curiosity and discovery through maintaining a well-kept, vibrant collection
Training and Support Provided: Orientation to the library, training during first scheduled shift, and regular contact with the volunteer coordinator in person or via email to address any questions or concerns.

The Get Involved Collaborative seeks new ways to use the skills and experience of library volunteers to make a difference in their community. Public libraries are positioned to engage this talent to extend their capacity in the community and to develop advocates and supporters of library services. The Get Involved Collaborative comprises libraries from California, Idaho, Arizona and Texas.
