WHY: SmartResponse makes sure donations reach those most in need the next time disaster strikes Srilanka. DAP (an independent watchdog of disaster relief and humanitarian aid) is recruiting a volunteer team to help us identify and provide outreach support to local [nonprofits/civil society organizations] in Srilanka to help ensure donations reach the most deserving organizations after the next disaster.
Sri Lanka Outreach Volunteers are asked to assist with the following BEFORE disasters occur:
Data Collection / Outreach / Support for Organizations:
Identify CSOs/NGOs in Sri Lanka involved in disaster relief & human services.
Assist with outreach to improve participation in the SmartResponse platform.
Join one short conference call per month. (we’ll plan a few at different times)
Sri Lanka Outreach Volunteers are asked to assist with the following AFTER disasters occur:
Social Media / Outreach:
Help spread the word about the data collected by the SmartResponse platform after the next disaster hits Sri Lanka
Time Commitment: 5-7 hours per week (estimate)
