Caris Healthcare is looking for a few good men and women to support area veterans nearing the end-of-life.
Caris Healthcare proudly participates in the We Honor Veterans Program by recruiting and pairing Veteran volunteers with Veteran patients. This Veteran-to-Veteran Program provides Veteran Volunteers the unique ability to relate and connect with Veteran patients and their families. Veteran Volunteers can assist veteran patients in the following ways:
Assist Veterans in reminiscing/telling life stories.
Take part in pinning ceremonies or distribute certificates for Veterans Day and other recognition events.
Assist in replacing lost medals
Maintain a bedside vigil to ensure that no veteran dies alone
Caris volunteers provide an array of services in Washington, Carter, Sullivan, and Johnson Counties in Northeast Tennessee. Caris volunteers serve patients and families in homes and nursing facilities. Each action makes a difference and no amount of assistance is too small. Must submit to a background check, drug test and complete orientation and ongoing computerized volunteer trainings.
