Are you a Veteran looking for a way to serve your community? Caris Healthcare has three opportunities for you to review in all area of Northeast Tennessee.
Caris Healthcare proudly participates in the We Honor Veterans Program as a Level 5 partner. This Veteran-to-Veteran Program provides Veteran Volunteers the unique ability to relate and connect with Veteran patients and their families and to Veterans in the community.
1. For Caris Healthcare patients/families (Patient Care Volunteer)
- Provide socialization and companionship
- Assist Veterans in reminiscing/recording life story
- Maintain a bedside vigil to ensure that no veteran dies alone
- Take part in pinning ceremonies/certificate ceremonies
- Assist with Vet-2-Vet social gatherings
- Assist with office tasks such as scanning, filing, answering phone
- If you have a talent or hobby that you can share with Veterans. (examples of past projects: paracord bracelets, handmade blankets, tapletop flag stands, cards/letters, music (instrument or voice).
- Take part in community pinning/certificate ceremonies for Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans, Veterans Day and other recognition events
Caris volunteers provide an array of services in Washington, Carter, Sullivan, and Johnson Counties in Northeast Tennessee. Caris volunteers serve patients and families in homes and nursing facilities. Each action makes a difference and no amount of assistance is too small. Patient Care and Administrative volunteers Must submit to a background check, drug test and complete orientation and ongoing computerized volunteer trainings.
