Would you like to join our volunteer usher program? Our volunteer ushers greet patrons at the door or assist them to their seats while helping to enhance the theatre experience. Ushers generously give of their time and talents to support and inspire performing arts at E. J. Thomas Hall. Duties include reading tickets, scanning tickets and directing patrons to their seats.
As a team member you see a variety of programs while assisting the public. Teams of sixteen commit to from September through June, from one to five times a month depending upon what events are scheduled at the Hall. These range from Broadway shows to Akron Symphony and Tuesday Musical concerts to University and high school graduations. Make Friends - Make Memories - Make a Difference. Description
A jewel in the city, E. J. Thomas Hall provides the University of Akron with one of the country's finest concert facilities. It has been called one of the most beautiful and flexible performance halls in the world by New York Times architectural critic Ada Huxtable. Bringing world class entertainment through concerts, Akron Symphony Orchestra and Tuesday Musical performances as well as UA student concerts, and community events, E. J. Thomas serves Akron.
