DW volunteers will be assigned specific days to work from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m or 12-4. Following are the responsibilities of DW volunteers. Or pick up tours as needed.

1. Lead scheduled tours in DW. (With Science Director’s approval a volunteer may choose not to lead tours.)

Note: Volunteers may lead tours on days other than their scheduled work day. On these days they are only responsible for the tours they have signed up for.

Volunteers must receive training prior to leading tours. Training will be provided by the Science Director or the Science Director’s designee.

1. Perform science shows, e.g. electric shows, during school tours.

Note: Prior to performing any science show volunteers must receive show specific training from the Science Director or the Science Director’s designee.

1. Maintain a presence in the DW exhibit areas. Talk to Museum visitors, answer questions and be a good ambassador not only for DW, but for the Museum as a whole. The volunteer’s presence may also help alleviate any bad behavior on the part of Museum visitors
