Indy Reads Books is located on Massachusetts Ave and serves as a community space. Our bookstore hosts many events, from book signings to musical performances. We offer a great selection of new and used books with a knowledgeable staff. The best part? All proceeds support our vision to Make Indianapolis 100% literate!
You can help us in this mission by donating gently used books or your time. Our book-loving volunteers help customers, sort donations, restock shelves, and help spread the word about the cause of Adult Literacy.

Our vision is simple: 100% literacy for all. We're working to make this dream a reality by providing free literacy, English language, and workforce readiness programs to adults through our innovative Community Classrooms at sites around Marion County.

- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- The time commitment is 2 hour shifts, once a week. The first few shifts are training, then you will begin to work alone.
- We are looking for volunteers that love books and love to alphabetize. Our volunteers do well working alone or in a group, are able to carry boxes of bags of books across the store and up and down stairs.
