Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with St. Vincent’s Hospice. During this time of social distancing, you can provide much needed encouragement and support to others from the comfort of your own home as a hospice volunteer!

Your participation as a volunteer will help others in your community and can provide your stay at home days with meaning and propose. The lonely day you cheer, may be your own!

There are several ways a hospice volunteer may contribution support from home! One can help as a Special Project Volunteeror a Direct Patient Support Volunteer. These types are outlined below.

Direct Patient Support Volunteers must complete the application and orientation processes and be over the age of 15. These on-boarding processes can be completed online or via phone.

~ A Telephone Volunteer visits patients by phone to provide active listening, emotional support, and connection to the outside world.

~ An Administrative Volunteer assists with routine office work from home.

Special Project Volunteers complete supplemental support through art, crafts, generic inspirational writings, photographs, etc. An Application and telephone interview with the Volunteer Coordinator are required. A time and contribution log will be provided for documentation.

We welcome students, individuals, and families to participate as Special Project Volunteers. A student's volunteer time counts toward school requirements, too!
