Position Title: Recreation Program Assistant - Volunteer

Minimum Age: 14

Reports To: Program Coordinator or Program Leader

Position Summary: ASDR offers a wider range of physical and social recreation opportunities including; arts, choir, walking programs, coffee socials, exercise programs, and knitting lessons. Role Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Assist the Instructor in facilitating a program of your choice
  • Meet, greet, and social with people who are living with dementia, care partners, volunteers, and other staff members
  • Participate in scheduled programing and provide leadership and support to others
  • Help to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for new and returning clients
  • Help with the set up and take down process including the physical arrangement of the room as well as planning and preparing for activities
*Recreation assistant positions are available at a variety of position throughout the Durham region for a range of positions.
