Hospice cosmetology floating volunteer- Ingham, Jackson and surrounding areas
ORGANIZATION: Heartland Hospice
Please visit the new page to apply.
I am looking for a cosmetologist looking to volunteer their services to our hospice patients for an occasional hair cut. We serve 5 of the surrounding counties but the schedule would be flexible to the time that you have available to donate. Sometimes patients are not able to leave their homes for a haircut and we all know how much better we feel when we get our hair done. I would like to train a few in our volunteer program that would be willing to occasionally travel to cut someone's hair.
You would be required to go through our volunteer training which includes finger printing, a 2 step TB test, background check and some training modules. Our company would pay for all of this.
If you have some extra time and would like to make a difference in a hospice patient please contact me.
Tank you ,

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
