Disaster Accountability Project

Help ensure Bangladesh is "donation ready" for the next disaster!

Join DAP’s to support SmartResponse in Bangladesh.

WHY: Smart Response makes sure donations reach those most in need the next time disaster strikes Bangladesh. DAP (an independent watchdog of disaster relief and humanitarian aid) is recruiting a volunteer team to help us identify, engage, and collect data from local [nonprofits/civil society organizations] in Bangladesh to ensure donations reach the most deserving organizations after the next disaster.

Bangladesh Outreach Volunteers are asked to assist with the following BEFORE disasters occur:

Data Collection / Engaging Organizations:

  • Identify local CSOs/NGOs involved in disaster relief & human services.

  • Facilitate outreach/training efforts with the identified CSOs and NGOs

  • Organize one small fundraising/networking event per year to engage others in supporting this effort. (i.e. house party/happy hour/race run)

Stay Connected:

  • Join one short conference call per month. (we’ll plan a few at different times)

Bangladesh Outreach Volunteers are asked to assist with the following AFTER disasters occur:

Social Media / Outreach:

  • Help spread the word about the data collected by Smart Response after the next disaster hits Bangladesh

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month (estimate)
