Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Director to join our team on a volunteer basis, with the potential to transition to a compensated role once we secure sufficient funding. This role involves leading our fundraising efforts, developing strategic donor relationships, and managing fundraising campaigns to support our mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Fundraising Planning:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet short-term and long-term financial goals.
    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Donor Engagement and Stewardship:

    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
    • Create personalized communication plans to engage and retain donors.
    • Plan and execute donor appreciation events and activities.
  • Campaign Management:

    • Lead and manage fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.
    • Develop and oversee grant writing efforts to secure foundation and government funding.
    • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote fundraising initiatives.
  • Data Management and Reporting:

    • Track and analyze fundraising data to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports for the executive team and board of directors on fundraising progress and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.
  • Passion for social justice and the mission of WRF.
