ORGANIZATION: NATIONAL COALITION AGAINST PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE INC

WANTED: Passionate people who want to help put an end to our local opioid abuse crisis through community education.

Looking for volunteers to help with our biggest community education event of the year. Tasks we need your help with include:

  • Set up and tear down
  • 5K Walk station monitors
  • Registration check-in
  • Photo booth management
  • Youth Activity Center support
  • Exhibitor support
  • Clean up

FREE T-shirt, snacks and participation in Health Expo for all volunteers!

Note: We will match the time you have available to volunteer with the tasks we need help with.

Timeline:

9-1:00pm - Set Up
1-3:30pm - Health Expo and 5K Walk
3:30-5:00pm - Tear Down and Clean Up

Mission Statement

The National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA) was founded to prevent prescription drug and opioid related substance use disorder and overdose deaths through community education, policy change, legislative advocacy and the distribution of naloxone overdose rescue kits.

Description

The National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established to generate nationwide awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse that can lead to substance used disorder and overdose death. It is run via 100% volunteer support.

NCAPDA partners with schools, colleges, community organizations and medical, law enforcement and other agencies to increase awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse/misuse. NCAPDA’s Executive Director, April Rovero, also leads the Contra Costa County MEDS (Medication Education and Disposal Safety) Coalition and works at the national level as an Executive Steering Committee Member of the FED UP! Coalition.
