Assist at safety fairs and expos, speaking with visitors about the importance of being preparedness in the event of an emergency/disaster, before it strikes, through: informing about hazards and emergencies that may affect them or their family; encouraging the development of an emergency plan; encourage the collection and assembly of a disaster supplies kit; inform where to seek shelter from all types of hazards; inform of the community warning systems; learn what to do for specific hazards; practice and maintain your plan.

Coordinate the County’s emergency management program to prepare, prevent, plan, respond, and recover from all-hazard events. Will County EMA develops, maintains, and implements the ability to direct, control, manage and coordinate emergency operations in cooperation with local, State, and Federal governmental and private sector agencies.
Description
Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is the lead agency for developing, planning, analyzing, conducting, providing, implementing, and maintaining programs for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. This includes public preparedness activities, developing and maintaining emergency plans, coordinating, and training with stakeholders, and responding to disasters and emergencies.
