Help at-risk youth of color be successful in school! We are looking for someone to run our afternoon homework help program. Homework Club takes place after school Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Your role would be to make sure Homework Club runs smoothly each day. Primary job functions would be to make sure the kids stay focused and work on their homework, manage the volunteers during Homework Club time, take attendance, help the kids with homework, and ensure the overall success of the day-to-day operations of homework club. Homework Club starts September 10th and ends May 30th. Ideally, the Homework Club coordinator would be able to work all four days a week, but twice a week will also work for us!
Homework Club is located in NE Portland off of MLK Jr. Blvd; it is a large low-income housing complex. 80% of the residents are people of color and half of the residents are children. This program helps ensure that the youth here have access to educational support systems that, because of financial constraints, would not otherwise be accessible.
