ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association, Colorado Chapter

The Front Desk Greeter welcomes the public to the Association. The Greeter is stationed at the front desk of the Alzheimer’s Association to welcome, direct, and engage guests. The Greeter will answer basic questions, provide information, direct guests to meeting rooms, and alert staff when their guest has arrived.

This position does not require answering incoming phone calls. The position does require use of phone to let staff know when their guests have arrived.

The position will have a good deal of downtime, and the Greeter is welcome to read or work on their own projects on the computer, provided they can pause quickly to be responsive when a guest arrives. Based on the Greeter’s interests, they could choose to help with additional projects at the desk or using the computer.

Hours for this role are between 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Qualifications:

Comfort with customer service and interacting with the public.

Mission Statement

We lead Colorado in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research.

Description

The Alzheimer's Association Colorado Chapter works with diagnosed individuals, families, caregivers and health care professionals to provide care and support for those who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. We provide a 24/7 Helpline; offer free and confidentail Care Consultations; manage 90 support groups monthly; oversee Memories in the Making art program in area nursing homes; present educational programs across the state; and assist in enrolling persons with the disease in safety programs. We offer culturally approptiate support for Latinos, African Americans and the LGBT community. Several time during the year we have fundraising events, including: The Walk to END Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, the Memories in the Making Gala and Riv/ALZ.
