Physique Pictorial
Be part of our team!

After a lengthy hiatus, the non-profit Bob Mizer Foundation has relaunched its renowned art journal: Physique Pictorial. A 100-page photo-and-text volume, published four times a year.

Physique Pictorial highlights vintage male physique photography and illustration from the Bob Mizer estate as well as featured works from Mizer's peers. The pictorial also features interviews and in-depth articles related to photography, illustration and male physique modeling and photography.

The Pictorial also publishes portfolios from contemporary photographers and illustrators who specialize in celebrating the male physique.

The Foundation's art director, Frederick Woodruff, is seeking an experienced photo editor for occasional image prep for the Physique Pictorial publication.

The volunteer should have keen skills related to working with Photoshop. An eagle-eye for retouching and spotting and prep of photographs for publication.

Please contact the Foundation's art director Frederick Woodruff for further information.

Mission Statement

A photographic foundation that celebrates the power of controversial photography.

Description

The Bob Mizer Foundation, Inc. believes that the most disputed works of art are the most important to the progress of society.

Our mission is driven by the need to preserve Bob Mizer's archives, which include over one million photographic works, and his equipment, props, sets, and remaining personal effects. In addition, the foundation holds works by some of Mizer's contemporaries and successors, including George Quaintance, Bruce Bellas, and Dave Martin, and exhibits photographic shows by artists producing works that visually, politically, or otherwise push mainstream societal boundaries.
