Mission Statement
Blue Frontier Campaign (BFC) is a proven leader in building the solution-based constituency needed to protect our ocean, our coasts and the communities that depend on them.
Description
BFC was founded in 2003 by award-winning author and journalist David Helvarg, and with support from public figures such as Dr. Sylvia Earle, Robert Kennedy Jr., Ralph Nader, Philippe Cousteau, Rep. Sam Farr (D-CA), and former Rep. Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD).
With offices in Washington, D.C. and Richmond, California, we convene key stakeholders including conscientious corporate partners such as Google, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Northern Trust, Ocean First Divers and Legal Sea Foods.
We’re active at the grassroots level too, with links to 1,400 coastal, marine, and ocean organizations large and small, spanning the heartland. Our organization has a deep connection with grassroot organizers, and rich array of partnerships among national groups.
