Ploughshares

Alameda Point Collaborative (APC) uses the decommissioned naval station at Alameda Point to house 500 residents who were homeless upon entry and, experience a permanent disability. APC provides permanent housing and supportive services to support residents in breaking the cycles of homelessness and poverty.

Volunteers get first hand horticulture experience by performing tasks necessary for the nursery to run its daily operations. Such tasks include gardening, watering, weeding, plant propagation and transplants, pruning, and composting.

Volunteer hours: Wednesdays-Sundays 10am-5pm
Ploughshares will not host volunteers on days when it rains.
