Speak for the trees! Become an advocate of Denver’s urban forest...
Join a Denver Digs Trees volunteer canvassing team and walk the Valverde neighborhood to distribute informational doorhangers where trees are needed most. We'll meet as a group, and then head out in pairs. There's no knocking on doors. It's easy and fun! The canvass will occur from 9am to noon.
You’ll leave doorhangers to encourage residents to apply for free and low-cost trees to plant near their homes. These trees will grow to cool our neighborhoods, help us conserve energy, filter air pollution, provide habitat for wildlife, beautify our neighborhoods, and absorb and store greenhouse gases!
Applications for our spring tree distribution are due Feb 15, so we need to spread the word now.
You'll help the environment and our local community by letting people know about this wonderful opportunity to get free and low-cost trees. It’s also a great way to get to know many of Denver's neighborhoods and enjoy the outdoors.

Description
We are a private, non-profit organization that was founded in Denver in 1969. Since that time, we have devoted ourselves to improving the quality of life for communities throughout Denver by protecting and enhancing our green spaces and urban trees.
We primarily engage volunteers through our Denver Digs Trees program, which provides free and affordable trees to Denver residents. We also cultivate knowledgeable and skilled volunteers through our Community Forester program, which engages volunteers in planting and stewarding the city forest.
With a small staff of 2.5, we are blessed to have an amazing team of dedicated and passionate volunteers who make our work possible and welcome you to join us!
