We are looking for a few extra people to help us run our free store for teachers on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:15pm-6:00pm. Volunteers will help check teachers in on the computer, answer questions (don't worry--we'll train you before hand so you'll have all the answers!), sort tags (our way of tracking products), and check teachers out. This is a great opportunity for a retired teacher to stay in touch with the community or anyone who wants to support educators and their students!
We will give you a brief orientation--serving with us is pretty easy!--and get you started that day!
Students cannot be successful without the proper tools. Often, their teachers will dig deep into their own pockets to provide those tools. Teachers' Treasures answers that problem by providing a free store to eligible teachers. Teachers do not have a dollar limit, and can walk away with hundreds of dollars worth of products to enrich their classrooms and their students.

Teachers' Treasures obtains and distributes school supplies to teachers of classrooms and students in need.
Description
Every day at public, charter, private, and parochial schools located throughout Marion County, children of all ages attend class without the most basic supplies they need to get a good education. Dedicated teachers are often willing to pay for these much needed supplies out of their own pockets to make sure the kids in their classrooms have the necessary tools to learn.
Teachers' Treasures, in partnership with local businesses, charitable foundations, neighborhood organizations and individual contributors, helps fill this need by operating a volunteer based "Free Store for Teachers." Donated educational supplies and other materials are distributed via this unique conduit to teachers for the benefit of their students.
Teachers' Treasures offers a variety of group volunteer activities that can be tailored to your group or organization. Please contact Hanna Yaeger-Busch at hanna@teacherstreasures.org or call 317-264-1758 for more information.
Teachers who volunteer 2 or more hours can earn extra shopping passes. Teachers who are normally ineligible to shop can also volunteer to earn opportunities to shop.
