Do you live in or near Southeast Raleigh? Do you love food? Are you great with kids? Then you should volunteer with the Food Shuttle's Hunter Elementary School Sprout Scouts gardening club! An after-school garden club where students learn how to grow and prepare food as they explore the Camden Street Learning Garden. Volunteers are needed to help facilitate activities and support the primary educator. Spanish speaking volunteers preferred.
Requirements: Confident working with students, able to pass a background check, and consistent commitment preferred. Minimum Age: 18 years old Scheduling: Sign up online, https://foodshuttle.volunteermatrix.com/ , using access code HunterSS18.

We engage communities facing hunger to understand their unique needs and barriers. Then by building relationships and engaging our neighbors, we create programs and initiatives that meet specific needs, breaking the cycles of poverty, restoring dignity and improving the health of our community. We have served the seven counties of central NC for over 32 years and are a member of the Feeding America network of 200 food banks across the nation.
