The National MS Society is actively recruiting new volunteers to join our event committee for Bike MS.

Bike MS: Valero Ride to the River, presented by HEB is a fundraising cycling team. This South Texas ride offers cyclists a variety of one-day and two-day ride distances including a 161 mile option. The journey from San Antonio to New Braunfels includes celebrations at the overnight and finish line as well as fun-interactive themed rest stops along the route. Experience the beauty of South Texas and the Hill Country for a Bike MS experience like no other. Participants will experience routes with support provided by volunteer nurses, ham radio operators, law enforcement and more.

Overview
The Event Supply Coordinator determines the needs and acquires supplies for start lines, rest stops, lunches and finish lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation of supplies for drop-off to and from pre-event functions
  • Take inventory of supplies and deliver to warehouse to prepare for future use
  • Provide information to Event Supply Contractor concerning type and amount of supplies and proper truck load-in format
  • Prepare supply truck and tool boxes for staff, rovers and supply truck 1
  • Assemble site boxes for start lines, rest stops, lunches and finish lines
  • Partner with Supply Truck/Loading Manager to communicate needs and develop load lists for each supply truck
  • Partner with Supply Truck/Loading Manager in the loading and unloading of trucks, distribution of left over supplies/items and the return of all supply rental trucks after the event
  • Recruit and train warehouse volunteers
Education and Support
  • The Event Supply Coordinator will work alongside National MS Society staff for continued support throughout the planning process
  • All committee volunteers will receive training on current issues of MS
