Bessemer Historical Society DBA Steelworks Center of the West, 215 Canal St., is looking for reliable and consistent volunteers to help with Steel-ebration.
Date of volunteering: Saturday, July 7, event hours: 1:30-10:30 p.m. Location: 215 Canal St.
Steel-ebration is a one-day, community-wide, family-fun celebration of all things steel in Pueblo. This event also is a fundraiser to support the mission of the museum, to provide continuing education to the public through the preservation of historic artifacts and buildings of the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company, and related activities to the industrialization of the entire Western United States.
Jobs: There are a variety of volunteer jobs available (in 2 hour increments) including: check-in, groundskeeping, gift shop/community room, Tunnel or Bus Tour, Mine Rescue Car, Vendor Runners, Kids Carnival Corner and the Beer Garden (21 and older).

The Steelworks Center depends on volunteers to assist the organization in tasks for the Steelworks Museum, Steelworks Archives and with our educational programs. By volunteering with us you are helping to support and preserve the museum and archives of CF&I which was important to the history and development of Pueblo and Southern Colorado.

Mission Statement
The Bessemer Historical Society (BHS) was founded in June of 2000 as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and serves as the governing body of the Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture and Colorado Fuel and Iron Archives. The Mission of BHS is to provide continuing education to the public through the preservation of the historic archives, artifacts and buildings and the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company (CF&I). The CF&I Historic Site is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Save America's Treasures Project and has received two Save America's Treasures grants.
Description
The Bessemer Historical Society is the umbrella organization overseeing the Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture and the historic Colorado Fuel and Iron Archives.
