Family Promise of Greater Denver needs volunteers to be a welcoming presence at our Day Site on Saturday mornings! You will open the building at 9 am, greet families as they come in, answer phones and take messages for staff until noon, when a staff member will arrive. We're looking for volunteers to commit to one or more Saturdays every month and come in on a regular basis on those days. Training will be provided. Our mission is to form relationships with families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain permanent stability.
Description
Family Promise of Greater Denver provides shelter, meals, rental assistance, and supportive services to families experiencing homelessness in the Denver area. We also work with families on employment, long-term housing solutions and other goals to ensure self-sufficiency and a brighter future.
Family Promise of Greater Denver began serving homeless families in 1997 and is part of a national network of 180+ affiliates. Since our founding, we’ve helped more than 1,000 families, including 1,900 children. Today, an average of 70% of families leave with housing and 85% of adults secure employment while they’re in the program!
