The Pregnancy Care Center of Oswego County has several openings available in our 3 locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Peer Counselors: Meet with our clients to perform pregnancy testing (simple self-administered urine test) and to lead individual parenting and other classes for the clients. You are given the opportunity to touch the lives of our clients directly by showing the love, regardless of their circumstances or life-style, and may have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them as your relationship develops.

Administrative: These volunteers will help answer phones, make phone calls to churches, businesses and other supporters, schedule appointments and perform data entry about our clients into our database. They might also create marketing and graphic art pieces for our events and fundraisers.

Child Care: While our clients are in their parenting classes it is helpful to have responsible adults to watch their children in the waiting room and make sure they are happy and safe.

Community Partners: We need people who know people! The PCC is funded completely by churches, church members and a few area businesses. Do you know an area business owner who would love our cause? Can you talk to them to get a donation - either monetary or a physical donation of an item we can raffle off? Do you know a restaurant owner who might donate food for an event we are having? Or perhaps you know someone in the greater Syracuse area that would give us a good deal on our Banquet if we held it at their facility. Who do you know? Can you help?

Prevention Services: We have a prevention program where 2 young or young-minded people - one male and one female - go and speak to children at the 8th grade level to educate them about healthy relationships and STD's. You would be fully trained for this position. Must be 30 or younger - or at least look younger.

General Help: There are a variety of things that we need help with since we are dependent almost completely on our volunteers. Other areas we can always use help with are as follows:
- Cleaning (general office cleaning, sanitize toys in the waiting room, etc.)
- Boutique help (sort, fold and hang up clothing items; clean donated items, etc.)
- Office - Assist with folding letters and marketing pieces, putting them in envelopes, etc.
