The Friend of Albany Public Library and Albany Public Library Foundation seek volunteers to help with producing social media graphics for our Annual Appeal, advocacy campaigns, and event promotions.
No one reads social media posts if there isn't an image, video, or gif. The Friends and Foundation are a group of wordsmiths, dedicated readers and writers. We are looking for other lovers of the library who likes to play with graphics, gifs, and memes to help us tell stories that will catch the attention of our social media followers.
Volunteers can try this out for a week and deliver one image, or stick around for 8-12 weeks to develop an idea or story. We welcome graphic design instructors from local colleges to take turn this into a class assignment.

The Friends & Foundation of APL provides critical financial support to the Albany (NY) Public Library in order to help the Library provide education, literacy, career development, cultural enrichment and lifelong learning. (In February 2020, the Albany Public Library Foundation merged with the Friends of Albany Public Library.)
Description
The FFAPL’s purpose is to
Benefit, promote, support, encourage and generally enhance the programs and facilities of the Albany Public Library
Provide financial assistance and support for specific Library programs and projects, and
Assist the Library Board of Trustees in making its programs and facilities more valuable to the community.
The FFAPL is functionally integrated with the Albany Public Library.
