On Call Cashiers

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Flat River Outreach Ministries

We are looking for people to be on-call/back-up cashiers in our Thrift Store (store is open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday). These volunteers will be available to help when regularly scheduled volunteer cashiers are sick, on vacation or unavailable.

Individuals will receive training on the register and pricing. Cashiers work in teams, so you will not be alone at the register. Interested volunteers should be willing to work with a variety of people, and have basic customer service skills (i.e. greet customers as they come in, handle interactions well and be friendly).

Volunteers must complete an orientation and will receive a 25% discount after volunteering 10 hours.

All proceeds from the Thrift Shop help support programs of Flat River Outreach Ministries such as our food pantry, home repair and weatherization projects, financial assistance, summer lunch program and much more.

Volunteers 15-16 must volunteer with a parent or guardian. Those over 16 do not need a parent present.

Mission Statement

To be the Greater Lowell community hub where hope, resources, and gifts are shared.

Description

Flat River Outreach Ministries (FROM) is a nonprofit organization focused on bringing together individuals, families, churches and businesses to respond to the needs of our neighbors in the greater Lowell community. Organized in 1998 by 13 local churches, FROM works alongside families in need to help them improve their quality of life.

What began as a small community food pantry, serving an average of 20 families each month, is now a full-service ministry that provides services to over 300 families every month in the Lowell Area School District.

We are funded by generous support of the community which includes those who donate to and shop at our Treasures Thrift Shop.
