SAGE Eldercare

We realize the importance of cultivating partnerships with corporations and community organizations to further our mission, and we like everyone to see the important work that our staff and hundreds of volunteers do daily.

Besides giving employees an opportunity to do something positive for the community, corporate volunteering is good for PR, helps build team morale, develops employee skills and helps with local connections.

SAGE offers multiple ways your group can help. We are always open to suggestions!

Meals on Wheels

For either one Day of Caring, or for an ongoing basis, volunteers deliver meals and spend a few minutes with home-bound, isolated people. Monday through Friday from 11:00 - 12:30 Up to 6 "teams" (cars) of employees can come to SAGE to pick up meals. Our staff supplies each team with everything they need and instructions. Local businesses have also chosen to do this on an ongoing basis if employee schedules allow.

We also ask community members to "guest" volunteer during the month of March for the national March for Meals promotion. We also have a small Food Pantry, so non-perishables are always welcome!

Spend A Day

SAGE’s adult medical day center provides a safe and fun environment for vulnerable older adults. Corporate volunteers can come (best hours between 10:30 and 3:00) and work on a project with the clients, whether it be art, gardening, entertainment, oral histories, photography, etc. The staff welcomes outside groups for socialization and to supplement the calendar of activities. Maximum group size is 15.

Sensitivity Training

The ultimate team building experience, SAGE’s Sensitivity Training is a unique opportunity for your team to experience what it feels like to age in a series of exercises that simulate age related physical and mental conditions. The program is customizable and flexible with time - lasting from 45 minutes to 3 hours.

Skill Based Volunteers

We welcome the help of your expertise! We can always use skilled consultants - anything from planning events to helping with fundraising to serving on our board.
