Volunteers will conduct storytimes, craft activities and other library and literacy-related activities with children 4-12 years old while the children’s parents attend an adult literacy class at Dallas Public Library locations. Special training provided. This is a great opportunity to volunteer with your friends. Please invite them to this volunteer orientation!

Classes will occur Saturday mornings 10am-12pm each Saturday from February 10th-April 28th. It is not required to attend every session, but we are looking for volunteers that can attend at least four sessions.

If you are 14 or older and interested in becoming a Dallas Public Library volunteer, please attend this orientation session to learn more about our opportunities and fill out an application.

Volunteers may be choose the following placement locations:


Hampton-Illinois Branch (2951 S Hampton Road)
White Rock Hills Branch (9150 Fergusson Road)
Pleasant Grove Branch (7310 Lake June Road)
Bachman Lake Branch (9480 Webb Chapel Road)
Dallas West Branch (2332 Singleton Road)
