Kindred Hospice- Douglasville, GA
Volunteer Program
The hospice philosophy focuses on quality of life for those living with end-stage illnesses so they maintain as much comfort and dignity as possible. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers provides caring support for both the hospice recipient and his or her loved ones. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Give your time, your talents and your heart by becoming one of our volunteers.
Volunteers are an important part of the hospice philosophy. You are there to hold a hand and listen, read or write a letter, run errands or even help out in our office.
Volunteers are there to step in when a family member needs a break, and are there for the family and friends after their loved one has passed away. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help.
What Does It Take To Be A Kindred Hospice Volunteer?
There are no restrictions in regard to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, handicap or national origin.
Volunteers receive training appropriate to their respective volunteer position. Orientation and trainings are scheduled to fit your busy schedule.
We provide care all over the local area. As a volunteer, you can choose where, when -and how to give your time!
Administrative Volunteers provide administrative/clerical support including filing, answering phones, mailings, etc. Some tasks can be done from your home.
Bereavement Volunteers provide bereavement support to families through supportive phone calls, mailings and visits.
Visitor Volunteers make friendly visits to people on hospice care in their homes or long-term health care facilities, and provide companionship and support to the patient and their families.
