The Focus Academy [Forward-Moving, Optimistic, Committed & Courageous, Unity & Self Sufficient] Volunteer will work with the Family Stabilization Department to teach and mentor high school students in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, VA. The Volunteer will teach and provide Math and English SAT Prep and homework support to students ages 13-18. The Volunteer will help students to prepare for SAT testing and college prep. Additionally, the Volunteer should be well versed in classroom management and be excited and enthusiastic about working with and mentoring teenagers.

Program: Begins on January 8, 2018 - May 16, 2018

Time: 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm [3 hours] with additional [3] hours for planning

This Volunteer position is unpaid and requires transportation. The value of this educational/learning experience will be incalculable for the students and will be mutually rewarding to both the students and the Volunteer.
