Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse promotes resource conservation, creativity, and community engagement through material reuse. Having recently drafted a Style Guide outlining the basics of how we represent who we are and what we do, we are seeking a summer intern to help recreate our promotional materials. The Communications Intern would work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Executive Assistant, Shop Manager, and Assistant Shop Manager.

Responsibilities
- Design and redesign brochures, signs, and other print material
- Contribute to the writing and preparation of monthly email newsletter
- May be asked to use WordPress to edit and update website
- Make recommendations for marketing strategy
- Assist with keeping communal areas tidy (kitchen, bathrooms, warehouse, etc.)
Qualifications
- Interest in nonprofit communications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer literate and proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to bring own laptop and design software required
- Initiative and follow-through skills
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm
- Passion for the environment, art, education, and community engagement
- Comfortable asking questions when they arise
- Willingness to learn

Description
The Creative Reuse retail store is like an I Spy book in real life! A thrift and craft store in one, we have tons of donated materials thanks to the individuals and businesses in our community. If you’re looking for affordable art and craft supplies, fabric, yarn, sewing notions, office supplies, paper, business and industrial discards and surplus, or vintage curiosities to incorporate into your creative project, you’ll love our shop. We’re open every day from 11 am to 6 pm!
Pittsburgh is on its way to becoming a reuse-centered city, and our shop is a large part of this movement. In 2016 alone, Creative Reuse diverted 41 tons of usable materials from the landfill!
