Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse promotes resource conservation, creativity, and community engagement through material reuse. Having recently drafted a Style Guide outlining the basics of how we represent who we are and what we do, we are seeking a summer intern to help recreate our promotional materials. The Communications Intern would work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Executive Assistant, Shop Manager, and Assistant Shop Manager.

Responsibilities

• Design and redesign brochures, signs, and other print material
• Contribute to the writing and preparation of monthly email newsletter
• May be asked to use WordPress to edit and update website
• Make recommendations for marketing strategy
• Assist with keeping communal areas tidy (kitchen, bathrooms, warehouse, etc.)

Qualifications

• Interest in nonprofit communications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Computer literate and proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to bring own laptop and design software required
• Initiative and follow-through skills
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm
• Passion for the environment, art, education, and community engagement
• Comfortable asking questions when they arise
• Willingness to learn
