Dear Prospective Volunteer,
Kid City Hope Place has offered excellent college access and leadership programs to youth and young adults in downtown Los Angeles for nearly ten years. Now, Kid City has a new, second site in central city east, and we need volunteers! You can be a part of the early days at Kid City JW and help guide high school students in the areas of college readiness and job training. Your work here will surely be a pivotal moment in the students’ lives, as well as yours. We have all had a helping hand when it came to our education and this is your opportunity to be the guiding hand for other young people. Below are some of the areas we are looking for volunteers to help students with
- College Prep: Assist students with completing college applications, choosing a major, and applying for financial aid
- Job readiness: helping students develop resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and practice interview skills
- Tutoring: guide students through English and Math
- SAT Tutoring
At our newest site we have plenty of comfortable places to work with students and a computer lab complete with Wi-Fi. We are looking for volunteers who are available between 3pm and 7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays
If you are interested in working with wonderful students in the heart of downtown Los Angeles or would like to know more, please call or email Ben Garcia at (323) 541-7612 or email us at bengarcia@kidcityhopeplace.org
