Meals on Wheels Delivery

Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

Help keep the meals rolling out of our Meals on Wheels warehouse. A volunteer is needed to ride-along with a staff driver and deliver meals in the downtown area, Fridays, 8:00 am - 1 pm. Training is provided. Please note, you will be riding in the car with another person, with masks on. This can be a physical role, and does require some lifting and caring bags up flights of stairs, etc.*This opportunity is on-going and only available Fridays.

Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, reliable, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders.

Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 20lbs and climb stairs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver’s license or ID.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
