Junior Achievement of Northern California is inspiring a generation to be financially capable and prepared for career success. With the help of volunteer role models, education and business partners, JA equips these young people with the tools to solve problems creatively, manage risk effectively, and welcome opportunity. Together we are building a bridge from the classroom to the boardroom.

The JA Company ProgramBlended Model unlocks the innate ability in students to solve a problem or fill a need in their community through an entrepreneurial spirit.Junior Achievement and community volunteers will mentor high school students as they create and lead their student run enterprise.

  • JA Company Program Basics

  • Includes a series of 13 two-hour meetings or 26 one-hour meetings recommended for high school students.

  • Program delivered online to students through the JA Learning Platform.

  • Introduces students to the key elements involved in organizing and operating a business, while empowering them to solve problems and address local needs through the entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Meeting-specific, student-friendly materials and resources are presented to increase student interaction and emphasize JA's experiential approach to learning.

  • Correlates well to state social studies, English, and math standards, as well as the Common Core State Standards in English/language arts and mathematics.

Junior Achievement of Northern California (JA) achieves this mission through teaching students about their expanding roles as individuals, consumers, employees, employers, and productive members of our society. Working in partnership with over 4,000 community and corporate volunteers, we provide empowering programs to K-12 students across 26 counties in Northern and Central California. JA's vision is to make a positive impact on the lives of all students in our operational area, and our efforts towards this ultimate goal are guided by these core values:

Each school year, JA NorCal impacts over 90,000 students with programs that will help them become economically confident and career-ready adults.

Our regional headquaters is located in Walnut Creek, and we have branch offices in San Jose and Fresno. We currently operate in the following counties:

Alameda, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Fresno, Humboldt, Inyo, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Mono, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Kings, Tulare, Glenn, and Tuolumne.
