NY Service-Social Fraternity / Nu Sigma Theta

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are inviting young brothers (ages 18 and older) to pledge Nu Sigma Theta, a service and social fraternity that has a global outreach.

We are looking for young men who love to serve, but who also want to develop themselves personally and professionally and support other young men who have the same goals.

We do service projects virtually and depending on the time of year, we will have some in-person activities. We are also looking to develop specific programs and services for our brothers and hope to develop a program to serve teen boys in NYC and NJ. Men who have talent in basketball, football, rap, music are especially sought, but if you have any ideas of programs that would engage teen boys and believe that you could lead such a program, please suggest that - as we want to be creative and diverse in what we are able to offer.

Some of us will be serving on the planning committees for a new nonprofit that will serve youth in New York and New Jersey - which also opens up an opportunity to serve more teens. If you have experience in education, program management, human resources, finance/audit, technology, compliance/risk management, development/fundraising, facilities - your expertise would be appreciated. These committees generally meet via conference call one evening a month. Also, as that nonprofit begins to take shape, there will be additional opportunities to be hands on with the kids.

Being a part of Nu Sigma Theta doesn't take up a lot of your time. We send around a list of projects and activities that are happening every month. Participate in the projects and activities that mean the most to you and/or that you have time to do. Your level of participation is up to you. Membership is free for those who join us in 2017. We have a shortage of men in our NY/NJ region, so if you know of service minded young men - please share this information!

To apply, just email us your full name, city/state, occupation (not WHERE you work) and birthday and you can get started immediately!!!

We invite you to join our growing community of brothers who live in Massachusetts, Nigeria, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
