This position will enhance emergency and disaster response for DOH-Lake. The disaster preparedness nurse will participate in disaster response, training, exercises, and community outreach as needed. This may include working in Special Needs Shelters and caring for clients, providing medical countermeasures via Points of Dispensing (POD) operations, and other health and medical response activities.
This position will rotate between sites throughout Lake County based on the needs of the department.
Requires current clear/active Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida. Valid driver’s license.
TRAINING: Background screening and training is required for all volunteers. RN volunteers will be trained on DOH services, policies, procedures, and on software to be utilized. Additional disaster preparedness training will also be required, including FEMA ICS 100 & 700.
